Don McLeanDon McLean is one of America’s most enduring singer-songwriters and is forever associated with his classic hits “American Pie“,”Vincent (Starry Starry Night)”, “Castles in the Air”, “And I Love You So” and “Crying”. Since first hitting the charts in 1971, Don has amassed over 40 gold and platinum records world-wide and, in 2004, was inducted into the Songwriters’ Hall of Fame. His songs have been recorded by artists from every musical genre, most notably Madonna’s No. 1 recording of “American Pie” in 2000 and George Michael’s version of “The Grave” in 2003, sung in protest at the Iraq War.

In 2007, Don McLean shared his life story in Alan Howard’s biography, The Don McLean Story: Killing Us Softly With His Songs. In June 2011 Don performed for an audience of 100,000 at the Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts.

Don continues to tour North America and the rest of the world – including UK/Europe in 2012, Australia in 2013 and two UK and Europe tours in one year in 2015.

Introducing Roan Yellowthorn…

Under the moniker Roan Yellowthorn, Don’s daughter – Jackie McLean – celebrated the release of her debut solo EP by playing her first New York City showcase at the Rockwood Music Hall. She played songs from her self titled EP, which was released on April 8th. Friends, family, and fans packed into the room to cheer her on as she performed songs such as “Fragment”, her own interpretation of Sappho’s poem Sappho 31, and Lie With Me.

New and Upcoming for Don McLean

1. Don’s new album “Botanical Gardens” will be released in 2017 featuring all new original compositions.
2. The Starry Starry Night 3-disc package will be released in the UK this summer by Weinerworld with US and worldwide releases to follow. The package includes two re-mastered HD DVDs and an audio CD.
3. Two of Don’s stadium shows from the 1980s in Cork, Ireland have been re-mastered and will be released in full HD by Weinerworld following the Starry Starry Night release.
4. Don’s 70th birthday concert recorded on October 2nd 2015 at Fairfields Hall, Croydon, UK will air on TV next year.
5. Don has recently recorded 23 songs (pop, country, rock, etc) in Nashville for an upcoming Playin Favorites type album.
6. Don is currently writing new songs and for the first time is collaborating with another celebrated songwriter (and Don’s guitarist) Vip Vipperman.
7. A new British TV documentary about Don is in the works.
